India is very famous in variety of delicious foods. The wide range of food you can find in India is innumerable. In India the food can be categorized generally as North Indian and South Indian food. It can be further divided into region wise, the region wise foods like Rajasthani, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Kerala dishes. I will not be shocked if you add a few more regional cuisines to the list.

India is a land of festivals and every festival has its own special dishes; each and every event also has a unique menu and these are varying from region to region. In some festivals celebrations the food items are very impotents.  The majority of Indian dishes are colorful, full of spices and flavor.

I know it’s very complicated task to come up with the just top five delicious Foods which I can recommend to you on your visit to India. Yet here I am with my top five food list you cannot miss when in India.

1. Chaats

Chaats, the king of all dishes! They are generally had as starters or evening snack. Chaat is not the name of single dish it consist of a mixture of other dishes mainly pani puri, pav baaji, sev puri to name a few. Tamarind, chilli powder, curds, onions, tomatoes and sev (vermicelli) are the key ingredients that go into most of these chaats distinctively known as street food.

2. Masala Dosa

That’s a really a delicious food of South India but the best dish enjoyed by everyone all over India. It is form of thin pan cake prepared with the batter which is fermented over night.

3. Biryani

Birayani takes many forms and can be vegetable biryani or non-vegetarian. Either way, it is a dish you must give a shot. It’s very delicious and spicy, above picture is chicken biryani  , its mostly served dishes in all over india.

4. Samosa

This is one of the favourite snacks of every Indian and one of the most popular snacks or starter is punjabi samosa, is easy to prepare at home with this samosa recipe. Serve the punjabi samosa with chole, imli chutney and beaten curd to satisfy your spicy palate.

5. Dam Aloo

Dum Aloo is a very popular recipe. It goes will with rice or nan breads. If you love curries, you’ll love the dam aloo.
